O'HO MAH

According to the Kiowa Indians
- "the O' Ho Mah

is the oldest of all 'war dances' - the beginning of all

'war dances' - it goes further back then when Peyote

was originated - it was in 'Sun Dance' time - the

peculiar tail piece is the emblem of the Order; the Head

of the Order who died recently was the 'Keeper of the

Bird.' " It was said very earnestly that "sometimes toward

morning it might be danced in the Peyote tent if a man

had much reverence, but only if he had very great

reverence.
